The first few pics are from Harishachandrachi Factory, a feature about India's first feature. Pics show India's first filmmaker, Dadasaheb Phalke, walking into his first screening, learning film-making in England and teaching film-making to his family in India. Harishachandrachi Factory was India's entry for Best Foreign Film to the Oscars in 2010. In some ways, this feature planted the seed of collecting in me.
The following pics are from Road, Movie. We just watched it. Reminded me of Sergie Dvortsevoy's Tulpan in its exploitation of arid geography. I believe Road, Movie was well received at several international film festivals.
A character in the film says the projector is an "Italian Victoria". The juxtaposition of the rewind and the Mahatma is humor, of course. The scope screen ..... I thought it is magnificent!
